Are Real Estate Agents a Scam?

a good chance that you don't think Realtors are essential. In some cases the people who try selling by owner usually end up listing their house on the market within 2-3 weeks after very little showings/activity.

Why is it that you get so many more showings with a Realtor? The main reason behind this is the amount of exposure a Realtor can bring to your house. Not only are the 1000+ other agents seeing it, but so are the thousands of other potential buyers on the home search websites. Sure, you could higher a limited-service broker to get that exposure - but then you have to handle the transaction side of things.

Within a real estate transaction there are several things that can go wrong. What happens if you let your deadlines pass? What about a bad home inspection? Appraisal comes in low? These are all things that need to be watched for & responded to in the correct manner. If you are familiar with the real estate industry chances are this won't be a problem. However, if you are not sure about it - you may be in for a world of trouble!
